In recent years, laparoscopic gastrectomy has been evolved particularly in Korea and Japan for improving quality of patients with resectable gastric cancer. However, there is some critique that this minimally invasive approach could be associated with intraperitoneal cancer cell dissemination and increased risk of peritoneal recurrence and worse survival.
