Dr. D. Roukos, studied Medicine at the University of Athens and specialized in general Surgery at the J.W.Goethe-University Hospital in Frankfurt a.M., Germany, where he received the title Dr. med. He moved back to Greece and since 1990 works at the Ioannina University School of Medicine.

Current Research Activity

Human genetic variation-based research including quantitative genetics and genome-wide association studies, and integrated models to predict genotypic-phenotypic variation in cancer. Potential implications of systems biology in personalized management of gastric, breast and other solid cancers.

Goal

Improving clinical outcomes of patients by translating cutting-edge research into evidence-based clinical practice
